THE HERITAGE OF THE COMPANY
In 2023, Elwis Lighting can celebrate its 70th birthday.
In reality, however, our presence can be traced all the way back to 1938, but it was in 1953 that the company’s founder Mogens Wilsbech created the world’s very first functional fluorescent hand lamp. The invention of the hand lamp laid the foundation for what Elwis is to this day, as it has helped inspire numerous new innovative products over the years. To this day, it still exists in our line of products range, in an updated version.
The creation of the hand lamp was the first innovative step the company took on a journey that continues to this day, as we continuously strive towards a more creative and sustainable future.
In a collaboration with Elwis, you will experience that we as a company take responsibility for our product range. As a member of Elretur, we are also seriously committed to the creation of climate-friendly products. We utilize climate-friendly materials such as FSC cartons, and we have a growing range of rechargeable products, which reduces the need for dry cell batteries.
Providing greener products, and packaging options for our customers serves as the current embodiment, display of commitment, and the bedrock for a better, greener, and future Elwis.

OUR PRODUCTS
At Elwis, we are highly focused on the user experience, and we strive to offer a tailored selection of products.
Here, the various requirements are at the center, and our selection offers a number of products for professionals and/or outdoor enthusiasts.
As an example, our “PRO SERIES” line of products is made to meet the extensive requirements of professionals.
Here, qualitative lighting, rechargeable and/or dry cell options as well as UV lighting and red light are just some of the various options available to select.
THE VALUE OF QUALITY LIGHT
We know the value of quality lighting, which can be completely decisive for the working day, and tasks. Adequate lighting can directly affect health, concentration, and productivity in everyday life. The road to a good and healthy working day begins with lighting that maximizes visibility and minimizes eye strain.
Poor lighting in any work context increases the risk of health problems, such as headaches, migraines, and fatigue. E.g. construction sites and car workshops, such factors can have large and far-reaching consequences, in the form of an increased risk of work-related accidents.
Qualitative lighting helps improve safety and indirectly acts as a safety net for people who would otherwise be disadvantaged.
WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED
Over the years, consumers, like ourselves, have become significantly more demanding and critical when it comes to the functionality of the products.
Back when Elvis first saw the light of day, there were fewer requirements for individual products. In a way, it could be boiled down to the message “it just has to work and be stable”. Today, these elements are still absolutely indispensable to the equation, because of course the product must act reliably, but at the same time, there are now far more and greater conditions present, if one desires to remain within the elite of manufacturers.
Today, sustainability, functionality, and flexibility are all dominant factors in the manufacturing of products. At Elwis, we always work to implement and ensure that these can be identified and implemented, in the best possible way. Especially when looking across our entire range, a range that must always have a touch of finesse and a high level of user-friendliness. In our eyes, this is essential in relation to determining whether a product will meet our professional quality standards, or not.
